Basic B. Sc. Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four year degree program which follows the syllabus prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council. The program aims to provide the learning atmosphere and opportunities for students to become nurses equipped with knowledge, competence and commitment who are self directed individuals and responsible citizens. They are prepared to give comprehensive nursing care to individuals, families and community in heath as well as in illness. Furthermore, they are expected to participate in teaching and managerial functions in nursing education and nursing practice. After acquiring B.Sc. in Nursing, candidates can work in the following domains:

• General Hospital: Government, Semi Government, Corporation, Private hospital as staff nurse, sister in-charge, nursing superintendent etc.,

• Specialty Hospitals like – Cardiac, Pediatric, Cancer, and Gynecological – Obstetrics, Psychiatric, and Kidney etc.,

• Nursing Homes,

• Nursing Clinics,

• Nurse Anesthetist,

• Nursing Schools & Nursing Colleges,

• Private Nurse,

• Community Health Nurse,,

• Geriatrics Home,

A. Candidate must have passed at the external evaluation in Higher Secondary examination under 10+2 education pattern or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects with minimum of 45% of marks.

B. Candidate in SC, ST & SEBC category must have passed at the external evaluation in Higher Secondary examination under 10+2 education pattern or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects with minimum of 40% of marks.

C. Eligible Candidate should have completed the age of 17 years by 31st December of the year of his / her joining the college.

D. There is no sex bar for the admission to B. Sc. Nursing course hence male candidate can also be admitted.

E. Admission is allowed for married candidates also.

Total 50 Seats

Government Quota Seats 75% of total sanctioned seats which are filled by admission committee of paramedical courses at BJMC, Ahmadabad.

Management Quota seats 25% of total sanctioned seats which filled by management consortium of Gujarat State.
